KYDA Partners are working exclusively with a Water and Wastewater company that engineer and design custom turnkey equipment, provide rental solutions and plant service for industrial and municipal applications. They are looking for an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to join their growing team.
Job Description:
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing site services to clients such as supervision of equipment/system installation, start-ups, commissioning, troubleshooting, media & membrane loading, client equipment reviews, general maintenance and repair for water treatment equipment, training/support of Field Service Engineers & Field Service Technicians, and site water audits. A strong working knowledge of the mechanical and electrical operation of water treatment equipment is required including pumps, filtration, membrane-based systems (RO, UF, NF), chemical injection, and ion exchange. This position reports directly to the Director of Site Services to manage the company’s need to provide reliable client services and to meet the overall goals and objectives of the organization.

This position may require supervisory roles over Field Service Engineers and Field Service Technicians. Applicants must have a minimum of four years of supervisory or management experience in a technical capacity.
Required qualifications & skills:
Education and experience
The preferable qualification is a four-year bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or electrical design/equipment repair or equivalent work experience. Mechanical and electrical aptitude with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in equipment service & startup, repair & maintenance, plumbing, and/or control systems within the water treatment industry. Electrical and PLC programming experience is preferred though not required.
Interpersonal skills to interact with other employees, managers, and customers in or out of the production facility. The ability to lead and direct Field Service Engineers, Field Service Technicians, and Equipment Technicians on good engineering practices for equipment operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair.
Proven communication skills and an ability to work with all types of personalities to accomplish tasks on and off-site. Experience in working in a team environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential to complete the work assignments and attain the goals of the organization.
Knowledge and skills
Senior Field Service Engineers must be experienced and efficient in using personal and laptop computers, cell phones, and associated software and apps. They must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite of Word, Excel, and Outlook. The ability to read equipment drawings, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, specifications, and manuals is required. The ability to read, interpret, troubleshoot, and modify PLC ladder logic is preferred though not required.
This position requires a proven history in analysing and troubleshooting water treatment equipment and controls including filters, reverse osmosis systems, ion exchange, chemical injection, and general PH adjustment.
Ability to work with all kinds of hand tools, power tools, machinery, testing instruments, handheld instruments & devices, water quality analysers, and test kits. Must have a working knowledge of all types of water treatment components such as valves, tanks, pumps, instruments, membranes, ion exchange, filters, piping, etc. Experience with configuring instrumentation and troubleshooting analogue and digital control signals is required.
A solid understanding and command of process design, water chemistry, and water treatment testing tools for troubleshooting and servicing of water treatment equipment. Must be able to read and understand a water analysis document.
